Would you mind if I won’t talk
About what to do
Better sit, relax or walk
Silently subdue
To the sweetness of the day
With the promised rain
That forgot to fall today
Though the sky was grey
The roadworks spread happy noise
The smell lingers far
Tips me gently there’s no choice
I can’t book a car
Get the plane and swiftly fly
That familiar route
Just to see if I can buy
Some of earth to root
You would offer me a bed
Your diatic food
We would share, as you said
It could be so good
But it went the other way
You have found your peace
I don’t know what more to say
When I’m saying this..

Roadworks

It has been my observation
While in the northbound traffic queue
That roading companies impose
Nonsense rules to make you stew

The first and most important rule
For Health and Safety regulation
Is to put out a thousand road cones
To block (I mean aid) traffic navigation

Next, have too many roading signs
Make sure they make no logical sense
So traffic cops sense your confusion
And can charge you with an offense

Rule three is easy to remember
Wherever there is a pothole.... ignore!
Seal the road around it to guarantee
More roading contracts by the score

Rule four, watch out for road workers
As they can be an unruly mob
(I would do this out of courtesy
If only I could see someone on the job)

At last, the queue is moving now
Spraying gravel abundantly
I think this is the place for me to start
A windscreen company!

Right

Right
where the road ends
rests a house
there is Rosa, sunrosed,
			is love, trust, life
A coffee in the morning
right before	marching the roadworks
			scooting the schoolbus
right like the hands of the clock.

Right
where the road ends
stays a mill
here my dogs, suninked,
		 	flowers, poems, life
A lot of coffee in the morning
right before storms set in
			minds settle down
right when	the thief of plants and apples arrives.

At two, cotton candy clouds
over a volcano that will always wink
at your grandson, curling up with gran
your grandgirl, herding goats with gramps
Your roots stay in this village
right
where your family eats your bread.

At five, we will meet
where the typhoons twirl the desert sand
there is coffee,
			cigarette smoke
Mine in my world
right
where we live.

Mystery Hole

A hole it wasnt there yesterday,
What's it for?,
Where does it go?,
Who made it?,
How deep does it go?,
A hole in the road...,
It holds untold mysteries,
It's not growing,
It's not getting smaller,
Does something live in it?,
As I ponder over the hole,
Wondering what it's for,
A man fills it in...,
"Roadworks mate" he says.

He’d got the physique of a body builder ... no hint of ‘builders bum’!

Based on observation on roadworks on Douglas Promenade ... I simply had to walk past twice lol:-)

Bacon Sandwich Carnage Coming

If I a bare fisted foot that a layered leaf once left undisturbed but amongst the rising becomes a glow and fortress is a finger roll and rolling is a non adventurous activity in a nine metre road. But no roadworks. They are mainly dependent upon corrosive erosive sealant. And many a glance or glare from a twisted turtle head could almost be forgiven for a sub consciousness riot is often a forefront in a non moving pawn game. Stagnant are those who watch am eclipse upside down. I am a Heidelberg Heifetz herlump but maybe a justification of heuristic heiferlump. I am unsure as to which prison I am currently visiting but working us waiting and waiting is a turbulent torrent of a torrid display. Merely an astronaut could fly this path. Really? Really? An opulent society is a dug grave waiting. No ha to that. But a bursting angle is an angled angel angling. Ha to that. Now spin. Yes. Spin. Horticultural herrod bar. Hum...hmmm.

Roadworks

ROAD WORKS AHEAD

FOLLOW THE DIVERSION

Road-works ? I’d rather have potholes !
Or go on foot, on leather soles.

Engines braying, tempers fraying
More gas, more water,
More electric, fibre-optic
More holes, more chaos !

With what will Wantage strangers greet –
Frustration and a car-clogged street ?

ROAD AHEAD CLOSED

WAIT HERE WHEN RED LIGHT SHOWS

Bollards In the Market Place

On the subject of road works in the Market Place, Devizes, England

Stuff’s happening in the Market Place
To really make folk cuss
Why isn’t there a parking space
And where’s the chuffin’ bus?
The traffic lights are stuck on red
It shouldn’t be like this
Park down Station Road instead?
Here’s something you can kiss
The long drive in from Long Street
Is a journey one may rue
Traffic jam, and save the feet
Or walk, and dodge the poo?
There are barriers by the chip shop
And the road looks really odd
Where can the hungry driver stop
To score a battered cod?
And, catch a bus outside the Bear?
That’s seriously confusing
A pop up pick up bus stop, where?
Change is not amusing
Damn those blokes in hi vis coats
For getting in the way
Some fat cat who got our votes
Has dug up Market Day
Why can’t it happen overnight
Can someone wave a wand
And some strange flowing spell recite
Whilst mooning by the pond?
Disrupted traffic, vain appeals
Bring back Devizes station!
Angry faces mouth at wheels
Expressions of frustration
Call them ruddy roadworks
When the ruddy road ain’t working?
More bollards than a Corn Bin night
(less twerking)

When the voice in your head says: “move on”
Your heart has its own voice that says: “stick around”

When the pendulum swings
From one extreme to the next

Adding fuel to the confusing fire
All you wish for is one clear path
What you get are spinning thoughts
Transporting you forwards and backwards

Do you remain or move on
Ignoring the signals
The stop and go signs
As if there are roadworks ahead

Clearly nothing has been finalized
Until your head and your heart are in unison
Don't rush –
Anywhere worth going
Needs to be enjoyed
Even with the question marks and roadworks ahead
