Mystery Hole

A hole it wasnt there yesterday,
What's it for?,
Where does it go?,
Who made it?,
How deep does it go?,
A hole in the road...,
It holds untold mysteries,
It's not growing,
It's not getting smaller,
Does something live in it?,
As I ponder over the hole,
Wondering what it's for,
A man fills it in...,
"Roadworks mate" he says.

I don't read this piece as being negative as it might most others because it puts me in mind of The Beatles' song "Fixing A Hole", especially the last few lines. Well written piece my friend and fellow poet.
