Nose To the Grindstone

1/13/21

Living among animals, some of which albino
Other lifeforms gigundo or micro

Folks in the same or different time zones
Had to keep my nose to the grindstone
And put down the Iphone
Spent time outdoors on my own
The beauty of it all, left my mind blown
Out among so many pinecones
I can feel it in my bones

Business conducted in person or by phone
Working toward another milestone
I know
Never underestimate thy foe

The stem on the plant was a rhizome
And this other plant had all these trichomes
Growing and dying in and out of similar or different biomes
Nearby clear waters or on the surface is a white foam
People living homeless, and others in a nice home
Sometimes for a cat or dog, the doctors prescribed Visbiome

The area was currently a no fly zone
Due to a cyclone

Was not even close or in the strike zone
Close to and far from Limestone
It was made of fine stones
Or possibly made with rhinestone

A Trite Nihilistic Occasion - Part Two

endowing superlative creature comforts
reduce wretched survivors scant band of bare naked ladies
beastie boys, foo fighters espying counting crows
ready to buzzfeed toe kin *****sapiens
bereft, expunged, faux invincibility kickstarting
learning basic survival skills
forced to rescind twenty first century trappings
shifting paradigm sans primacy
pitting dishabille helpless imps against killers
who do not shrink from ethically principled

but give full reign to selfish callous deleterious foibles,
gruesome harmful indiscretions
sprouting with mushroom rhizome rapidity
ousting the omnipresently
(well nigh since time immemorial
virtues cultivated, futilely integrated, lending oomph
residentially, scientifically tendering ubiquitous DNA
foisting gabled, heralded, instilled,

justified kneaded love thy neighbor motto
lyft ting in one fell swoop delicately
embroidered, finely graven, heavenly ideals
no more patent leather shoes reflecting up
nor doodling Yankee staking claim to fame via feathered cap made of macaroni
thus such jingoistic, holistic, fabric ripped retroactively
ramping atavistic simian base,
thus leveling the playing field.

Message To America

I will always bring water to your lips
And the let the little fawn over your bramble skips
For memory cannot close its doors
On the lanterned woman laddling from your shores
Welcome for: the tired, the paltry poor,
Blown in the blustering winds rhizome and spore
"The huddled masses yearning to breathe
Free" of tyranny, and the vulgar claws of callous greed
"The wretched refuse of your teeming shore."
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed now to soar
Where the lamp is lift 'side the golden door."

The dragon spewed its water out
But like a great, strong, mother, you opened your mouth
And swallowed the flood, and the child
That watches now Babel's kingdom crumbling, riled
With pity, will not let you thirst
But will while toiling for bread again build you first
An altar of its flesh for iniquities
Commissioned by anitquated theories, antipathies
Sulked in the bosom of your guests
Be careful though, do not spurn their faithfulness!
