Premium MemberRespect for the Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama, who has earned
great respect and admiration,
has said that, after his death,
he will achieve reincarnation.
The school of Mahayana,
a Buddhist doctrine,
teaches social concern
and universal salvation,
a revered belief system
in his Tibetan nation.

The government of China,
with its history of prevarication,
insists that only it can decide
on the Dalai Lama's next manifestation,
showing complete disrespect
for Buddhist faith and tradition.

This atheistic tendency
shows no understanding
of trancendency,
and I hope his successor
will continue the struggle
against the oppressor.

Whatever you do or do not believe,
religion is a powerful force,
and the true Dalai Lama's credibility
will always be a matter of course.

My mom

A whole dynamite
A wonderful woman
A woman with dignity,
A woman of Value
A woman of Principles.

A woman who understand a silent cry,
A woman who gave birth to me.
A woman who raised me with honour,
A woman who took me to school.

A woman who taught me respect,
A woman who taught me humility,
A woman who taught me love,
though it was a tough one.

She carried me with Grace,
put me under her wing
And Protected me with her strength.
She guided me with her light,
As much of a difficult kid I was
She embraced me with her patience.

A woman who sacrificed for my growth,
A woman who played a head and neck of the family.
And kept it together at her best.
A woman whose support is endless.

The Only person that I know for sure cares
The only woman that I am assured of
Her love so eternal, Pure and true.
That woman is my mom

And this is a warm THANK YOU to that woman

Premium MemberWarmth of a Smile

A chilly school day as Miss Jones arrived
her hat and coat
in her hands
Students
sat
still
to see
her eyes tear
in great surprise
as she warmed from the precious notes and gifts

Respect

Why should we respect a saint who eats apples while his neighbors are hungry
Why should we respect a saint who sits with Dons and stands with corrupt Politicians
Why should we respect a saint who is miser and greedy
Why should we respect a saint who is not active against violence and harassment
Why should we respect a saint who is an ignorant speaker
Why should we respect a saint whose words are high and actions are low
Why should we respect a saint who does not quench thirst of seekers
Why should we respect a saint whose claims are based on falsehood
Why should we respect a saint who does not turn candidates into saints.
Lesson. Why should we praise a guy who is not worthy of respect and admiration?

Premium MemberYou Cannot Make Me

You cannot make me he said
Forehead tight, his face all red
He was quite bright
And was so right

I will not do it
He would not sit.
You can’t make me!
He kicked and bit

His parents came to school one day
They were having trouble too
They came to see if we had a way
They did not know what to do

He runs from us, the daddy said
He respects us not a whit.
A team of teachers gave them many suggestions.
We cannot. They replied. He would throw a fit.

So they kept rewarding his behaviors, bad.
And now ten years later I am truly sad
To report that you-cannot-make-me is in jail.
Some of us teachers send him regular mail.

A Hidden Beauty

If you've ever been bullied, you wouldn't be too keen,
of the person who harmed you, who made you feel unseen,
and though they did you wrong and hurt you various ways,
you got older and realized, it was probably just a phase.
For all you know, their parents bullied them,
and that's why they'd ruin your experiments in chem.
For all you know, their older sibling bothered them often,
And when you view it that way, it causes your heart to soften.
No, no, of course what they did was wrong,
They made you feel as though you didn't belong.
But now you're older and more mature,
And these days you wouldn't allow that behavior to endure.
But you were that bully to someone else because of the way you felt
Because you didn't have an outlet either and you mirrored them in how you dealt.
Bullying isn't beautiful, but people surely are.
Choose to look beneath the mess, the flaws, that scar,
Choose to give them the benefit of the doubt and raise the bar.
View them as beautiful, because maybe because of you, they'll truly believe they are.

Reverence and Respect

REVERENCE AND RESPECT

If it is true,
Wisdom comes with age.
Why suddenly sagacious,
Should we turn another page?

So many things in life,
We just never know.
Please guide me to the path,
Help my life to grow.

The sun rises and then it sets,
Far across the lands.
How does it get back to where it started,
I do not understand.

All streams flow into the sea,
We learned this in school.
Why does it not change,
The seas are never full.

The eyes see so much each day,
A wonder of its own.
Why are they never full,
Of all that we are shown.

The ears are never full,
Of all the things they hear.
What happens to the volumes,
So much, so close, so near.

What do we gain from our labor,
Generations come and go.
The work is still there to be done,
Is all of it for show?

When does the Lamb of God,
Become a full grown sheep?
It truly doesn't matter,
We are His to keep.

Premium MemberRenewed Respect For Youth

Renewed Respect for Youth
By Franklin Price
4/21/2015

Renewed respect for youth
Happened several days ago
From high school students in a play
Just wanted you and them to know

Enjoyed the play had lots of fun
Was very glad I went
Renewed respect came after
To the cast party I was sent

Was sponsored by my daughter
Her daughter was a lead
Got lots of food together
This crowd of kids to feed

When they began arriving
They made the party fun
Respectful to this old man
Of them they made me one

Talked to me and shook my hand
And if I may be so bold
Felt I was a teen again
And not grandfather old

They were loud but were not raucous
Had fun did not destroy
I think without exception
Every single girl and boy

All gone by the stroke of twelve
Curfew or self was in control
Said thanks a lot for having us
Tomorrow again we play our roles

You see why my respect's renewed
Why I was so impressed
Their underpants not showing
Also liked how they were dressed

The Hockey Battle of Respect - a Maple Leafs and Lightning Season Series

Thursday, March the 5th of the year 2015
Another hockey battle comes along the way
It's a hockey night across the bay
And for the fans, it's a night of pride and respect

Thursday night with the blue and white
Trying to play for their season pride
Thursday night with the black and blue
Trying to play for their playoffs ride

When the dance on the ice begins to ring
Their voices of strong support will begin to sing
With an atmosphere of a pep rally from high school
The cheers of a true fan - a hockey team's supporting tool

Toronto Maple Leafs - the underdog team
Coming away from the bay to fight for respect
Tampa Bay Lightning - the elite team
Coming from the bay to keep their respect

From the cheers of "GO LEAFS GO" away from home
To the cheers of "LET'S GO LIGHTNING" close to home
Hockey Night in Tampa Bay - a worthy game to expect
And their season matchup will be known as "The Hockey Battle of Respect"

Respect For Nothing

Standing on the street corners with nothing to do,
Spitting, shouting, smoking whilst drinking taboo,
No money but wishing and pouncing fags,
People assume they the sporn of the council estate hags,
Crack heads, Scag heads everyones opinion,
People know nothing they only just seen them,
But what lies within the true soul you ask,
Many dreams and ambition but scarred of rejection under their dark mask,
Lots kids who speak out in blasphomy to saviour attention,
Tried it at school, ended in dismissal or suspension,
Everything costs money and these kids are so bored,
Retailers brought out computers not something these kids can afford,
But now people moan about this technology being sold,
Kids play too much? The arguments are getting old!
You mock these kids, does it make you feel better?
Explain it to parliament and put it in your snobby little letter,
How can they learn morals when you have opinionated them?
How can they respect society when society don't respect them?

With Dignity and Respect

Anton walked past the schoolyard
Where basketball, years ago, was the everyday norm.
But, all had changed in this poor boy’s life
To the point that things won’t be the same.
He, now, maintains this school
And accepts the insolence of the
Students as they sneer at him
Because once, he had a shot.

He was a good student and athlete,
The road looked like it was paved in gold.
He met this girl that would change his life.
They dated 3 months when she said
That she was pregnant and he,
Yes he, was the only one.
Anton was raised with dignity and respect
And knew no other road to take
Except the road of responsibility.

Now, at 19, this baby in the world
Has a baby to take care of, to raise.
Anton, has proven himself to be a man,
a man willing to accept and endure.
No greater man ever existed.
He’s raising his child with dignity and respect
With his dreams being
That one day his son doesn’t
Make the same mistakes he’s made.
