The investment industry, gambling in a scuba suit
Interest rate risk, like blowing through a paper flute
Affairs of accounts, replacements for a lonely heart
Billionaire bankers, glean you as financial art
Subordinated debt, you’re an asset that can bond
Dow Jones Average, you’re a mean of illusions spawned
Vested venture risk, your dead poet’s society
Commercial competition, source of your anxiety
Free market futures, to soften your resistance
Reinvested capital gains, to edit your existence
Economic recession, when money goes on a diet
Capital gains taxes, when robbery is the riot
Asset allocation, a future of cherry picking
Bear market declines, the sound of money ticking

Evolution of the heart, mends the mind
Twirled through segments
And seasoned stargazing
Opens the eyes of bewilderment
Seizing upon the wisps of whispers
Representing what you have requested
Reinvested through your relationship
But never known to show a crown
Of bejeweled blackseed opened
And delighted by devils curve
And where whoosh, traveled there
I slip slowly through slippery
Sheets of ice that moves swiftly
Where I don’t ignite a thing of the ocean
Breathing the coldness of calamity
And worthlessness written on withered
Old paper, within the heart
Where mending seems to mediate
From open to oppressive measures
Only spoken through troubled waters
And frozen upon frozen eyes
Leaving me empty, without a heart
To mend any mind.

I couldn't keep enough love to save my life.
With all the thoughts that surround one person.
Every time I saw her I had this sensation to give as much as I could.
And when I felt this urge I'd give a piece of my heart.
And put it in a place that I knew in my heart would be protected and reinvested each time I thought
of her.
She didn't seem to mind the lint, checking my pockets at all costs.
Sealing my heart in an large envelope in deposit.
I gave, Until one day I was mugged.
I was taken for everything including my heart.
With just one piece, I exclaimed that you could have everything else.
Just not this, it's already promised.
It's the only thing of value.
I was robbed of everything.
When I made it to her house I told her everything that happened.
And with a look of concern she asked about the last piece of my heart.
I exclaimed yes sadly that too.
She just looked and held me close.
Giving me her heart

Mending the Mind
Evolution of the heart, mends the mind
Twirled through timelessness
And seasoned stargazing
Opens the eyes of bewilderment
Blazing upon the blocks of clocks
Representing what you have requested
Reinvested through your relationship
But never shown a known bowl
Of bejeweled blackseed opened
And delighted by devils curve
And where whoosh wintered where
I slip slowly through slippery
Bowels of bat guava seeping
Where I don’t ignite a thing of the ocean
Breathing the coldness of calamity
And worthlessness written on withered
Old paper, within the heart
Where mending seems to mediate
From open to oppressive measures
Only spoken through troubled waters
And frozen upon frozen eyes
Leaving me empty, without a heart
