The ice is slowly melting underneath me.
There is a real danger here.
Now I am frozen and drowning.
But still on the surface.
Just paralyzed by fear.
Thinking that if I stay still…
The lake will refreeze.
So I will stand here, shivering.
Afraid to move to safety.
My family is calling for me.
I am finally brave enough to take the risk-
To tell them how I’ve been feeling this whole time.
It’s too bad it took a crisis-
To finally have a catharsis.
Because now they cannot hug me close.
But at least I know they care.
Even if they can only do so from a distance.

Its cold in the morning at 6 am
Its cold to get up
Its cold to sit down
Its cold to look out the window
But then i see you
I am warm
Its warm to smile
Its warm to dance
Its warm to be around you
You are the sun in my cold dark world
if you ever left i would just refreeze
i would be lifeless
Nothing more than a animation of the dark
So please stay and warm my heart
as your heart splashes on my pad to make my art
Inspiration is your greatest gift

It was by chance our paths had crossed
that cold December day;
a love I might have had, but lost,
the one that slipped away.
I reached to kiss a ruddy cheek,
his old endearing smile;
the sight of him had turned me weak,
though only for a while.
The words he spoke I can't recall,
our spark had gone astray;
for in the past we'd said it all,
so much to my dismay.
He claimed, one day, he'd like to meet,
though he would never call;
the weatherman predicted sleet,
but tears began to fall.
Good seeing you again, old friend,
then said he could not stay;
I felt the blister of the wind
and watched him walk away.
A heart that had begun to thaw,
then started to refreeze;
I drew my overcoat in awe
of winter's frigid breeze.
