A Religious Affair

Turrets are turning,
behind the tanks
exhausts are farting death clouds,
barrels, like angry dicks,
are hot, erect and spurting,
buildings erupt, climaxing
on TV screens.

On both sides of these yonder hill
where the redline bleeds,
blank-eyed children,
play their video games,
while trying to overhear
a merciful God at His prayers.

Neck pulsating, close shave shines over whiskers
Stiff collar pressure, raced anticipation simmers
Key twist intrigue spurs engine's orange rage
Needle throws redline on wide torque gauge

Jaw rigid, fingers grip cockpit lethal leather wheel
G-force grabs chest, insolent beast thrusts surreal
Monster inflamed incredulously adheres to tar
Salivating lion's ravenous rumble has zero par

Ripping up bitumen, sardonic responsive tyres rivet
Road shred's exhausted under rocket fume exhibit
Airtight capsule, caramel cow hide hugs tamer
Eardrums hum, a hundred mile Hyundai shamer

Brawny tawny gold, hot bonnet chrome flashdance
Purrs her melting eclair aerodynamic performance
Pride's pilot elevated by moorish horizon hunts
Hungry headlights still prey with stealthy stunts

Whisked Away By Whiskey

Why dip when I can sip
Why sleep when I can have a trip
Just a tip for my mind to strip
Just a drip for a bad day to flip
Short gaps between gulps
Long chats between spats

On a whiskey bottle I once read a date
I mistook it for time until I was running late
On a whiskey bottler I once read a name
I drunk it fast as I mistook it for someone else’s claim

Amidst the sleazy and dizzy
It is easy to be in a tizzy
We get silly and flimsy
From whizzy to tipsY
We sink every time we drink
Replete and redline your limit

Premium MemberI Know the Redline

Seems to me a veteran from when he enlists, to when he falls, shouldn’t be asked, once again, to wait behind any redlines. Understand that order must be maintained , that of course is the name of the game. But isn’t there a better way, then to draw another line in the sand, delaying their day. Why not let them move on their own, to a waiting room to the left or right. Give them back a little independence lost, along with their sight. Why not remind them in a subtle, but meaningful way, they have left behind, the regimen, of their bygone day.

Blind Love

Love should be blind
Love should be clear with nothing to hide
Black or white, you should love with pride
Love should have no race, it should be color blind
This should be your new headline
If love has color then give it a redline

Don't love because of status of any kind
Don't love for property that you can leave behind
Don't let other destroy how love is defined
If you find love ,don't let it be declined
Because its magical and greatly refined
Love is a blessing of all humenkind
Love should be blind

The Redline

My room at the Hyatt
Smelled like my ex-wife
She didn't have oodles of class
Or wasn't overly fancy
So, it must be that aroma of
Almost masking what had
Taken place the night before
We greeted each other with
A welcoming suspicion
The bathroom lighting flawless
Standing in the mirror with
Perfect tan and bright white A
T-shirt
Khaki slacks pulled high and
Wise guy hair cut
I wonder if Capone ever went to see
The Cubbies play
Beautiful sunny day, not too warm
Plenty of room on the mezzanine
At Wrigley
A pleasantly safe distance from the
Big middle aged guys with
Some other man's name on their back ' s
Exhaling brat breath
And beer farts
the Windy City loves their team
