“ninth planet” anymore because there’s been
a redefining that eliminates
you from the list of planets. Since you’re kin
to the remaining eight, you will be called
“dwarf planet.” This downsizing of the list
must be a blow to your esteem. Please know
some people will be shocked, and you’ll be missed!
You’re really little, smaller than some moons!
There’s no choice; you must be reclassified.
So much has changed since your discovery
in nineteen-thirty. Science can’t abide
your presence on a list where you just don’t
belong! It’s sad to strike so hard a blow
on one far from the sun and always dark.
Your time is up. Now, off that list you go!

Kadeena was born on 10 March 1991,
And competed in non-disabled sports,
Until 2014 when she was diagnosed,
With Multiple Sclerosis which swayed.
She was a sprinter, including the 60m,
To set a WR of 11.97secs in the 100,
So changed to para-sports very fine -
To T37 sprinting and C2 track cycling.
On the approach to Rio she posted,
For the 100m a WR of 13.59 secs,
And then beat Georgina Hermitage,
Who came 2nd, by running 13.67.
So for Rio she was reclassified,
As a T38 runner, and for the T38
400m she won the gold medal,
And for the T35-38 relay, a silver.
She won bronze in the T38 100m,
And in that golden 400 set a WR -
Also competing in para-cycling,
She took the gold for the WR trial.
She was definitely a star at Rio,
And so was selected by Team GB,
To carry the Union Jack upright,
The night of the closing ceremony.
