drifting in shadows
my shape bends but won't stay there
not certain not sure
each choice cuts a new pathway
as tension reshapes my face

Portraits drawn in haste
show lines that crack in the light
mirrors deceive me
a single doubt can splinter
the vision of what I am

I hunger for self
woven stronger than the past
stitched from fierce longing
yet daylight breaks the seams loose
the threads unravel in dust

I walk in between—
torn by the pull of old ways
and of what may come
the tension hums within me
a bridge across fear and change

In the scars I learn
each fracture is a teacher
I rise by failing
resilience is hammered out
confidence shaped in the flame

I bend, yet I stand
each break recasts me anew
the glass learns to shine
Through trials I claim my form
becoming what I must be

Who I Was

Time like water recasts a face;
An imposter looks from my place.
Who I once was I know him not,
But not because I have forgot.
For certainly, could he foresee,
I fear that he would not know me.

Talking Poetry With the Coffee Water

The water pan, afire,
                 do not listen.
                 don't speak, what if
                 listen or speak,
                 it's because of its hiss...
                 I say... It doesn't
                 understand... or
                respons me by doing
                bubbles.
                may speak
                bubbling, or talk
                when it gets hot...
                If so, I understand it
                as ocean wave
                making bubbles...
And who wants to tell me
               its water adventures!
                the most it heats up
                further i understand it...
                 I put out the fire...
                I pass coffee.
               it now recasts
              in its aromatic pool
              exults in the bathtub and
              cloudy exhales...
                Now it's delicious,
                tasty coffee... !

Taboo

A lust redrawn, a passion
under wraps, recasts the theme
and sings a different tune.

A travesty of love most people say,
an instance of familial abuse,
it's not the usual way.

Stigma or no stigma?
they battle with a feeling others cannot share,
they care, just in a different manner.

Premium MemberContrapuntal Moon - Parts One and Two

Part One.

A silent yawn, the moon awakes.
Compels its patron planet's shape.
As oceans shift by its command
And with its might recasts the land.

Below the lunar rings of mist,
A strip of cloud, a stolen kiss.
The harvest yields a poet's line
on hay-rides of forgotten rhyme.

Part Two.

While far beneath the grain we reap,
Magnetic powers guard our sleep;
But in this source protecting Earth,
It warps the minds of some at birth

A missing foresight of control,
Malignant thoughts that urge, cajole.
Your moonlit steps they wait to hear;
A twisted grin, as you grow near.

Manna Mania Miscelanea - Part 2

... King Arthur had an enchanted sword,
do you, will it fell me?
come, let's ready ourselves
for embrace of the duel,
the nearest mirror recasts the
glittering joy of swords in our eyes...
... our eyes are the swords...

* * *

... I felt your breath
in the edgy delight of its
lemon flavor dancing on my teeth
and not waiting for the sun to leave
I sought a tavern at noon,
'what will you have?'
the shaman barkeep asked,
my finger traveled across the space,
and 'I'll have a draft of that spirit,' I replied,
he paused, smiled, I suddenly realized I wasn't drinking alone
in the breeze through the door,
you and I
commingling lip-red wine,
plunging, bathing, not leaving
until the sun again at high noon...
... and still I feel your breath
while spinning, foolish
and lemon-anointed, on the
edge of dancing teeth...
