Who I Was

Time like water recasts a face;
An imposter looks from my place.
Who I once was I know him not,
But not because I have forgot.
For certainly, could he foresee,
I fear that he would not know me.

what truth this speaks! We saw elderly people, why didn't we think we would... Great poem!

Thanks for the comment. The future always feels so far off until it arrives.

Hi, Jesse. A very powerful piece. Time, although not an enemy, compels us to get to know him. Your poem provokes more thought and musings. Blessings.
