After School Tutor

After School Tutor.

They want my blood, to hunt me down.
Their opinions formed with a frown.
Don’t need facts. Believe what’s told.
But here’s the truth, black and bold.

I have a weekly hour with your child.
To undo the mess the school’s compiled
I work and coach, with little gratitude.
Your child’s education has been screwed.

I teach the illiterate, how to write.
But parents want success over night.
Never blame schools for a wasted day
Blame the firefighter, for whom they pay.

Convention says school’s way is correct!
I prove them wrong, whatever next?
I look down, with smug, smiley eyes.
Teach them to read, spell and analyse.
