Tucking Kitty Cat In

Mama Cat tucked her kitten in with as much love as she could.
Knowing the next day, kitty would be on her own, in the wood.
She gave her baby an extra squeeze, thinking she is now full-grown.
As a mother, however, she knew her baby needed to be on her own.

Baby kitty was excited, her adventure in adulting was about to begin.
She enjoyed her mother’s cuddle; her whiskers tickled her chin.
Don’t worry, she said, I will always be your baby, mama, dear.
But adventure was awaiting her now; it was totally clear.

Mama Cat had raised up six litters already, she had great-grand cats.
Some came by once in a while, especially the slow one named Mats.
He felt friendless and peculiar, and he was actually strange and quite odd.
Mama Cat gave her baby an extra cuddle, a wink, a smile and a nod.
