The Basement Boys

Trenton Isaiah aka Ty .The second member of
the band they would call the basement boys.
I have always been a fool for a red headed baby and now I had one on regular loan.
This kid was wired for sound. He definitely
had my son's tempor. To the point he could be a danger to himself. When his dander was up he would as a toddler hurl himself backwards.I would spat his little booty as I was afraid he would be seriously injured if this didn't stop.He looked me in the eye after one such episode and said Ever time I
Come down here you whoop my butt.Well Ty I explained ,you won't have it any other way.But
Your right,You stop hurling yourself and I will stop whooping your butt.Deal? We struck a deal there and then but almost had to go back into
renegotiations one day.He was five and his brother was seven and change.I pulled up in front of the dollar store and let Mason out to get a bottle of soda.It was his first big boy errand. He was to pick out a two litre pay and wait at the door for me and Ty as I was freaky about the parking lot situation.

Ty and I parked the car and waited. And Waited. And waited. O.K. Ty let's go see what the problem is .
As soon as we stepped inside the door Ty tore off like twin tornados. When I approached the start of one aisle he would zig or zag to another.Have you ever seen the mad mouse ride at the fair?Sort of like that only with old people shopping.I finally got him cornered.Mason assured me mission was almost complete and he really wanted to do this.O.K.I said.I am going to the car with your brother to have a chat.Do not cross that parking lot
without me.Comprende?Got it. ,his reply.
Ty I said, when in the car,if I ever have to chase you down in public again if I have to wrestle you to the floor I am going to bust your butt. Now repeat what I just said. You said if you ever have to chase me down again I am in big trouble mister.
That is not what I said!, I barely got out ,before he repeated every word I had uttered even including the same inflection. Good I said .Now if this ever happens again I know you understand the consequences and I will not feel badly because you were clearly forwarned.
We went on to have a great weekend.I turned them loose with red paint and paint brushes to paint a small picnik table that was so dry rotted
the end of the bench broke off when Ty sat on it some time later.I let him tear it apart with a hammer . His brother
broke into sobs that he was destroying their memories. They are safe.
