Movie Theaters
The hushed expectancy, the velvet dark descends,
A world awaits as the projector lens
Awakens stories on the silver screen,
A collective dreaming, a shared vibrant scene.
The sticky floors, a testament to treats,
The rustling whispers in the crowded seats.
A communal breath as heroes take their flight,
Or shadows deepen clutching us with fright.
Popcorn's warm butter, a comforting trace,
A silent promise held within this space.
The soda's pop, a fizzy, joyful sound,
As shared emotions gather all around.
The larger-than-life faces, emotions bold,
Adventures grand in narratives of old
Or futures bright. We lose ourselves within,
A temporary escape where new worlds begin.
The shared laughter when a joke lands true,
The collective gasp when something shocking flew
Across the frame. A unity unseen,
Bound by the magic of that glowing sheen.
Now streaming services beckon from our homes,
The grand old theaters sometimes sadly roam,
With empty seats, a silence in the air,
A fading grandeur tinged with sweet despair.
So let us cherish those remembered nights,
Bathed in the flickering cinematic lights.
The poignant movie theater, a sacred space,
Where stories lived, and left their timeless trace.
