It Only Takes One Finger

Hamas, Palestine, Israel,
Syria, Russia, Ukraine.
China, Taiwan, North Korea,
it’s becoming too insane.

Old man Biden or old man Trump,
might be another squeaker.
It seems like hate keeps getting strong,
while peace keeps getting weaker.

Homophobia, transphobia,
gender inequality.
Abortions verses right to life,
who knows which way it should be.

Food’s infected, truth gets rejected,
climate control is a mess.
Debt ceiling, congress is reeling,
each side wants their pound of flesh.

Liberal or conservative,
too far left or too far right.
All this government corruption,
still no answer is in sight.

Disinformation’s the new truth,
can’t trust anything we’re told.
Pay is too low, healthcare’s too high,
we’re buckling under the load.

Water crisis, wildfires raging,
poverty is the new norm,
Money is gone but guns live on,
revolution is the storm.

There’s a fool on the left of me,
a liar stands on my right.
Seems congress can’t say good morning,
without starting a fist fight.

Everyone is rattling their swords,
nuclear war’s around the bend.
Just one finger on the button,
might bring it all to an end.

Some are crying a sad, sad song,
some sing a happier tune.
While the rubble falls on the poor,
the rich fly off to the moon.
