Supercharged

She was depressed,
Sometimes it would take awhile
To feel it, know it,
But this time she could literally see it.

Her eyes had sunk into her clouded mind
Shading all she saw.
The sun hurt her,
Mild days troubled her spirit,
Dull days sent her deeper
Into a misery she could not define
Or explain away.

It seemed that her inner climate was victim
To her outer climate.

One thing only could enliven her soul,
Just one, that was thunder and lightning,
Only a great and dangerous electrical storm
Could drag her out of her downcast blues.

Yesterday was the happiest day
she had known for ages.
She thrilled at the climatic chaos over her head,
Her heart pounded and leapt - although
She was safely indoors.
She laughed out loud,
Wild with a new sense of vivacity and life.
Her body needed this super-charge
To be fully awake, fully alive!

The next day a relative found her
Naked on the bed
Quite dead.
