Unmasked

I escaped their eyes, for my disguise was seen through
All is lost, despair in the air, craving for peace
My never-ending thoughts of wonder, I whisper,
"Allow them to cut, I need to rest."

I want to care for others! I roar,
I'm sprinting back to your letter
My dearest, the solution is out of reach,
forcing shards away from a broken mirror

Within the jar, our rose waning in color,
losing hope as the ticking hand gets closer
Within the castle's shadowed walls, last flickering valor,
confronting the hunters banging down the door

I'll never conform, despite their anger
Magically transport me to where time stands still,
I'll rest in limbo knowing I haven't caused harm
to the hostile onlooker

There is no other way, I won't go down without a fight
Repair me, Bella, put me back together
We can outlast their words of torment,
dancing the corridors till morning's light.

Maybe all is in vain, is this my last night?
You made me drop my mask, willingly
Thank you for your kindness, with your utmost beauty
Whether this fairy tale continues, I know wholeheartedly
That it has, at least, become beyond my control
to keep being the beast.

So let me bid farewell with your grace,
I shall allow myself to get struck down,
knowing they'll feel right,
that you won't be by my side,
and that I have no place.
