Moon Garden
They say the moon is foreboding and cold.
That's just the way people talk when they get old -
But I grow green beans and peas way up there.
I get there by riding my bike through the air.
I tend it on Tuesdays 'till half past seven
When my dog's bark goes halfway to heaven,
And I come back in time to eat something nice.
How 'bout a hot grilled cheese sandwich with mice?
I'll buy my dog a jewel-encrusted flea collar.
I think I can get it for just over a dollar.
Next year I'll grow rhubarb to make a pie.
I know you believe me, 'cuz I wouldn't lie.
Don't listen to grownups - take my advice.
They can't spoil our fun, and I'll save you a slice.
