Shelter From the Storm
Inspired by Bob Dylan's Song: Shelter From the Storm
The world offered him pleasures
his heart could not resist
He needed some salvation
yet his vices did persist
He had to find some shelter
Shelter from the storm
He went to see the preacher, to listen to the word
But the preacher's pocket was full of cash
while he paid the toll
and the sermon was too shallow
To save a sinner's soul
He saw the faces of addiction, how badly lives were torn
Were they hopeless cases worthy of our scorn
Or were they using drugs
To find shelter from their storms?
Then he opened up his bible to find a verse to hold
As he read the stories of prophecies of old
Then he heard a voice within that made him feel quite warm
The voice was simply saying
"I'll give you shelter from the storm"
