Deep Seas Swallow Whole

Showered with petals, long since gone,
Silk cloth exchanged for armour strong,
The transparent walls imprison souls,
No heart or living thought consoled.

Our presence blurred in mirrors cracked,
For seasons long, breaks a poets back,
Words thrown to wolves to dissect,
Veiled, with tainted images to inspect .

Inward staring, stained glass roundels,
Nature's wings carry songs of counsel,
Oak trees swish their puppeteer branches,
Dangling quelled dreams, as fate advances.

Locked within a darkened room by choice,
Cracked mirrors swallow a whispered voice,
Colouring in clowns, on tin roofs dancing,
Flying on saucers, sane minds glancing.

Sharks in Italian suits smugly prancing,
Cracked reflections disjointed, passing,
The whistling sounds of Nature calling,
The fleeting hours as Time's left yawning.

Corps de ballet of soldiers graceful dancing,
An army of ballerinas with riffles marching,
To taste the words through lifes cracked lenses,
And feed with riches for the hearts defenses.

Scrambling for thought to lure subtle prey,
Green shoots stagnant, a hearts disarray,
Watching shadows dance in memories flawed,
For a spirits beauty lost, is a man's love endured.

Struggling against the moons pull on words,
Deep seas swallow whole, all thoughts interred,
What waits below a watery grave who knows?
Above no solace gained, as cruel winters blow.

Love abandoned, cracked mirrors weep,
Prismatic shards, within images speak,
Life on the edge where it's always been,
For a mind repressed, is a mind unseen
