Who Am I To Presuppose

Who am I to presuppose
The wine flowed deep that night?
But after waiting seven years,
To greet the morning light
And find her sister in your bed -
Well, something ain’t quite right.

It’s said that’s Leah’s eyes were weak,
But Jacob got blind drunk,
For how else could it be explained
’Twas Leah in his bunk?

(from Genesis 29)
