Placate Me

I have a neighbor I have known
She seemed friendly with her children fully grown
But she watches only FOX and has groups for tea
They laugh loudly without masks —very carefree

Been told by my doctor to be careful outside
Even with radiation and chemo the virus can survive
I wonder as I see her and her husband take out their RV
They are going out every weekend with no guarentees

I hope they stay healthy and remain virus free
They’ve listened to all the lies — so here is my plea
As I wear my mask daily outside and I suspect we disagree
Placate me for I do not want to hear of a death in the family

As science and medicine have kept me for now cancer free
Consider the doctors and nurses struggling so placate me
