Excited, awaiting, the time finally came
When you walked through the doorway my heart burst aflame
I took a deep breath to stay calm and keep cool
While inside I was acting the romantic fool
Dreaming you'd kiss me when you saw me there
Your arms wrapped around me with no space to spare
Reserved and collected I'd pretend to be

You're with me in essence my lilac, my love
It's not the ideal but it helps me write of
My hopes and my dreams that we'll be together
Those thoughts remain timeless, they'll last for ever
