The Void B

It's dark, the house feels much bigger as I run from room to room repeatedly thinking I've missed her. That she is there... "Mammy! Mammy!" I shout until my throat is sore. No answer. The kind of silence that reverberates back and makes me feel like I'm in a void where everything I've ever known has gone. I open the front door and run outside, the orange glow from the street light feels comforting to see. A neighbour wraps me in a blanket and takes me in until she returns. It was wrong to run outside. I should have stayed asleep. It wasn't a big deal I'm told. No one seems to understand it was to me. It's the first day I knew about the void where no one but me exists and I scream out but no one hears me.
