There'll always be a little Texas
It's more than twenty years since I left Texas.
I've settled down, no longer roam,
And now I call Missouri home.
I'm happy here for many reasons…
The lifestyle, people, all four seasons…
And as the years go by,
I must confess,
I think of Texas less and less.
But though distance, time,
And circumstance may take their toll,
To tell the truth, sometimes the fact is
I miss the tumbleweeds and cactus.
I guess there'll always be a little Texas* in my soul.
*You can take the boy out of Texas, but...
