Someone always makes the rules

It is now legal to take THC
A drug now in gummies and Cannabis tea
But in Siskiyou County the Hmong growers move in
threaten the natives, who must lose so you win.

[bridge]
You can love him and leave him, have a sweet fling,
The government helps with the baby you bring,
We've got the highest percent of single mothers anywhere
Its hard on their kids, but why should we care?

[chorus]
Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for you
You've had your fun, soon the payment is due
If you don’t want chains, then you best take a stand,
Don’t get swept away with the tides of this land.

If they call you the wrong pronoun, you can sue
Say you are trans, they'll do surgery too
They'll charge the insurance companies, for this vital need
But if you want to change back, can't undo the deed.

If you can't pay your landlord, you're free to stay
If you lack 900 dollars, shoplift away
New frontiers in freedom discovered every time
Open the borders, skyrocket the crime

Teachers complain of the new crop in their class
Students curse them, kick them, and otherwise harass
Kids don't fear rules, are free to express
But what kind of jobs will they have? What hope of success?

Drag shows for kids, who’s keeping score?
We’re opening doors that stayed closed before.
They also hire drag queens for army ads
Russia and China must laugh at our fads.

Isn't it great how free we are
New frontiers, overcoming every bar
But if you can't control yourself, you pack of fools
You won't be happy when others make the rules.
