When Silence Spoke

I ran from silence,
thinking it meant loneliness—
but it waited for me
like an old friend
with something to say.

No thunder.
No lightning.
Just stillness
that wrapped around my soul
like a soft, forgotten prayer.

It whispered truths
too delicate for noise—
that I’ve been aching for rest,
hungering for peace,
longing to remember
the sound of my own voice.

Silence showed me
the pieces I left behind
in places I no longer belong.

And for once,
I didn’t fill the space.
I let it echo.
I let it break.
I let it heal.

When silence spoke,
I finally listened—
and found myself
waiting on the other side
of the noise.
