When Silence Speaks

When Silence speaks, stars surrender their sparkle to the night;
Luna’s glow sweeps awe above the world.

When Silence speaks, Luna caresses the face of her beloved sea;
Speechless are the crests of hills on which sea’s waves are tossed.

When Silence speaks, the hills lie still, fading into shadows.
Shadows creep quietly into the nearby forest.

When Silence speaks, the forest’s trees rustle whispers to the wind.
The leaves of the trees drift with wind’s every surge.

When Silence speaks, the wind, unheard as I lie dreaming,
swirls its way mysteriously into my dream.

When Silence speaks, my dream whirls me into enchantment.
I waken to the first flush of dawn . . . and gone are the stars.
