Notes About The Poem

A true story of marital er..... bliss

-------------------------------------------------

Flush

My lady wife does strange things with the lavatory brush
She stands it in the loo and then she activates the flush
But she’s my girl and not someone that I would want to chasten
Except she leaves the brush there like it’s Guardian of the Basin

I know she pours in loads of bleach in which the brush can soak
I don’t know why she does this for alas I'm just a bloke
So when I walk into the loo that brush is standing proud
Protruding from the lavvy pan as I proclaim out loud…

My darling, I’m so happy that you keep our home hygienic
But that there plastic poker in our loo is hardly scenic
So I don’t have a Labrador but what if I were blind…
You’d find me running out of here while clutching my behind

I enjoyed reading your fun/creative "Flush" write. Great Picture... Years ago I cleaned with bleach until I was having breathing problems. I found out bleach is bad on ones health. Have a wonderful/blessed day writing away..................

Ouch! That wouldn't sit well with anyone. Funny story, and if any is non-fiction, that would be a new one for me; but why not clean it in there after all! At first I kiddingly though the title was about cards, and at least you mentioned poker later on, lol.

Oh David…. If only any of it WAS fiction. Nope! Apart from humour for effect, these WC flagpoles are a regular occurrence in our house… FACT!

If there’s one time when your body clock doesn’t need messing with, it’s when you’re gasping for the loo and you rush in, turn on the light…. And there’s a bloody stalagmite in the lavvy. Annie could be the next Tracey Emin with this daily work of art ;-)
