O sluggard one
a choice from countless options laid
lying on the couch, an indolent arcade
eyes fixated to a screen, the light to your dark
an abundant world of pixels where you leave no mark
fatuous scrolling
a rotting lethargic brain still strolling
time itself constantly changing,
escaping from your otiose hands
you remain the same, exploring lackadaisical lands
a faithful servant; beloved idle idol
nothing can save a languid fool
your 60 something thinking you can be 'cool'
entertainment has taken control over your mind
all this buffoonery; your oblivious and blind
you love your filthy sloth; because your life is so bland
the choice was yours to pick up a phone;
so you left your life somewhere in the sand
you question your worth
your life on earth
wondering but not asking why
instead of figuring it out you stare into your screen
no efforts left, so you don't even try
laying back down on your back supine
