Hear ye
To be safe is to find genuine peace with self and past.
What you see is what you get—
Originality borne of preparedness for incorrigible wrongdoing,
And a tremendous conceit for error,
Unbothered by those who misunderstand.
To love is to nurse the pretense of caring
For something beyond self, as one perhaps cares for oneself.
Yes, most renowned religions have made it a selling point.
Dyed with the ambience of thought and desire,
Dulled by pondering the traditions and cultures of men.
And if you wonder long enough,
Then the future might be yours, even if only briefly.
But man—what man has the courage
To ponder his perceptions, actions, and will?
He is king at heart.
