NATURE COMES TO OUR RESCUE
Our numbers continue to grow at speed.
Now we approach eight thousand million.
But we grow at the expense of wildlife
as we now commandeer most of their land.
We do not look for ways to limit growth
for our field of view is fixed on profit
and fine focus is tuned to personal gain.
Restraint and self-discipline we can’t do.
We turn a blind eye and hope for the best.
Mother Nature decides to change our ways.
So now she sets to work upon a plan.
She notes that many live in crowded space
and frequently they travel far and wide.
She sees that this is man’s Achilles heel
and ideal for the spread pathogens.
And so a virus could perform the task.
The global cull of mankind shall begin.
She now evolves some airborne viruses
along with several back up variants.
Her action now is for the greater good
for it will save man and species at risk.
