Nightmare

I saw my stiff body lying in a coffin,
Devils and ghosts-like frills did my heart got soften;
The lid shut; I'm breathless; Was this why I am dead?
The linen within did not look like my bedspread...!

I got outside my coffin and tried to get out,
The mud was tight and tough like the masonry grout;
Earthworms, ants, crustaceans, wasps, earwigs, centipedes,
Hungry and thirsty I fell fainted in wet weeds...!

I got up gasping and panting and perspiring,
My bed seemed to blow up as though by a firing;
No one was seen nearby; where have they all now gone?
The entire house looked haunted and heavenward drawn...!

I had seen too other scenes such as getting chased,
Falling into drenches wherein wild beasts are placed;
Getting killed while driving through traffic-filled highways,
My house electrocuted and my bed ablaze...!

Was I under any stress or strain, or worry?
Did I, any of my, problems or plight, burry?
Did social, occupational, emotional,
Physical well-being had grown erosional...?

How would I get rid of this nocturnal slow death?
Could my sleep turn like the sleeplessness of Macbeth?
Only if God and his angels keep watch on me,
Through these nightmares only daily deaths I will see...!!!
