The House, that Eli the deceased priest built for the LORD, conclusion and commentary
Conclusion of: The House that Eli, the deceased priest of the Lord, built.
1 Samuel 7:17 continued
And he built an alter there for the LORD.
Commentary: The two separate series are very interconnected. With part one
involving the prophet Isaiah's and other servants of the LORD--answering his
call into his divine service according to his divine will. Some of the servants of
the LORD God were willing, while others such as Moses were reluctant. Un
like Isaiah, Moses clearly felt that the LORD could choose someone else more
qualified. Thus, God sent his elder brother. Aaron the Levite, to present himself
to Pharaoh alongside his younger brother Moses.
Isaiah felt that he was a man of unclean lips ;whereas Moses, felt that his speech
was inadequate to face the most powerful world ruler of the land of Egypt, Pharaoh.
But their sister Miriam, was also called, by being given a ministry for the women of Israel.
Two gentile women, Rehab and Ruth, are in the direct linage of King David and
the Lord Jesus Christ. Thus letting his people know that the God of Israel, was
also orchestrating a plan to redeem the gentile nations. Even though the Jews
were unaware of it at the time and the modern day ultra Orthodox Jews, do not
recognize the LORD's plan to redeem us even today.
And consider Christianity to be a cult instead of another religion; officially
recognized by the God of Abraham, the God of Issac and the God of Jacob.
They did not recognize Jesus Christ, their Jewish Messiah, during his earthly
ministry. And do not recognize him as their Messiah today-- this imminent
closure of this present church age.
He will not return, for his second coming upon the mountains of Israel, until
they all cry,"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD!" During the
conclusion of the battle of Armageddon; outside of the city of Jerusalem.
Under the priest Eli, the people of Israel worshiped the foreign gods of Baal,
and Ashtoreths. God not only judged the house of Eli and his two sons, but
the rest of Israel as well. They lost several towns to the Philistines, who also
captured the ark of the LORD. After his demise, Samuel took over as their
judge. The LORD punished their enemies; they sent the ark of God back
to Israel. The people cried out to God and repented. Their enemies were
defeated and there was peace while Samuel ruled over them as their judge.
