The End of Heartbreak

"Our vision is so limited we can hardly imagine a love that does not show itself in protection from suffering... The love of God did not protect His own Son... He will not necessarily protect us – not from anything it takes to make us like His Son. A lot of hammering and chiseling and purifying by fire will have to go into the process." ~ Elisabeth Elliot No one knows the secrets I hold inside. The sins I would like to erase, The darkest faults like hate and pride. It is a miracle that He offers me grace. No one knows the ways I’ve failed in life. The reasons I have for weeping. The disasters who haunt with such strife. It’s amazing that His love I’m yet keeping. No one knows the doubts that I’ve felt. The fights I have with my heart. The reasons I have always knelt. It’s a wonderous thing, He offers a fresh start. No one knows the ways I’ve been ashamed. The humiliation of those sins. The disgrace with only myself blamed. It’s His love and grace, where it all begins. No one knows the ways I’ve lost all hope. The struggles with my convictions. The reasons I’ve felt like I just can’t cope. It’s the light of a King who healed my afflictions. No one knows the discouragement, the dread. The reasons I have for doubting. The many tears that have been shed. It’s the praise, the worship, that leaves me shouting. No one knows the silent despair, the dismay. The anguish, the misery, the ache. The reasons I can do nothing but pray… To a King who can make the earth quake. A KING who died for my sake, A KING who never made a mistake. A KING who rose, ending all heartbreak. A KING who I love and will not forsake!
