Posing questions to poetry

A conversation that ends as you sweep through the door
I didn't quite hear, my position unsure
So I'll make idle chit chat on your return
Test the water, see what I can learn
Oh maybe I imagined it, it all seems fine
If there was a misunderstanding, it was clearly mine
Is that second guessing? Have I made that a habit
It's an exhausting pursuit, think I'll quit
All in betweens all unresty and anxious
All in all it's just very suss
Am I at fault or mistaken so much of the time?
Now I'm scanning myself, line by line
I'd rather just exist free thinking, carefree
I suppose I have the power to reinvent me
Switch off the brain debating my actions
Live a little, ignore my 'you're a fool' inner factions
Step by step I'll test out if I'm worthwhile
Re-evaluate my value mile by mile
There's a chance I've just told myself lies
That I'm not so difficult that I need mask and disguise
Maybe I'm delightful, funny and charming
I'd love to embrace that, even the thought is calming
The dogs in agreement, a vote of confidence
You my friend have earned another dance
Imagine the landscape spreading before me
If I just lightened up, was a little more carefree
Not analysing myself, giving myself the third degree
I'll quit it, that's it, decision in place
Is it really that easy to cast off supposed disgrace
Let me think, what are my crimes
#1 would be some of these rhymes
Numbers 2, 3 and 4 possibly being difficult to know
Though the evidence contradictory, that accusation has to go
Number 5 appears to be 'having emotions'
Isn't that a trait of being human, erm move to motion
I don't know the legal terms but this is getting thrown out
Miscarriage of justice, beyond all reasonable doubt
I'll admit to the rhyming, I'm caught red handed
But I can explain officer, poetics I just misunderstanded
I'll take a class, rehabilitate m'lord
We'll resume order and... accord
No, I didn't lazy rhyme... It was said for fun
Purposeful is different, it's bending the rules hun
Oh that's over familiar in a court of law?
Rehabilitation? That's me learning sir
Yes it was respect combined with repeat of the crime
A poetic chancer, I'd better just do my time
I'll work on my character whilst I'm inside
Or corrupt a prison, I need to decide
My carefree aim is going well
In one sense anyway, oh that's the dinner bell
No concerns, I just follow the rules
Thank you justice system for giving me the tools
When I'm back on the streets I'll be no trouble at all
(It's the new me until after the parole board call)
I plan to go rogue and forget to rhyme
It's called free verse, do that and I'm fine
Once I'm free again, I'll live life to the full
My lesson is thinking time, is the death of us... all
