                                              In Stars Above

                           In stars above lie myths buried with age,
                         Each star hosting a soul perished with time,
                               Parental affection shelved in its cage
                               Lovers` afterglow reflecting its shine
                           Dreams of a youth yearning to move uphill
                           Or hopes cherished by men tilling the field;

                        In words of some well- known saints and sages
                        Stars are born when great souls soar up the sky
                               With tale of every star writ on a page
                                Every star shining with a distinct ply
                                 Every star retaining its discrete eye
                                  Every star awaking with gentle rise.

                               In myriads of stars strewn far and wide
                                 In a nebulous sky, one can perceive
                             Diverse shades and hues lying side by side
                               That corridors of the mind can perceive,
                               For some, a delicate piece of their heart
                                   And for others a vibrant work of art.

                               In gatherings of stars above are formed
                         Patterns and shapes, one stranger than others,
                          Hurling in their serpentine paths dust storms,
                             To wit, the Great Bear vied by the Hunter
                            And the Little Bear caressed by the Queen
                             With the Little Dog and more in the scene;

                                  In stars above shines a silvery light
                             That for seafarers serves as sincere guide
                          Where observing eyes search for their delight
                            Broken hearts oft seek their sorrows to hide
                              Some poets hunt for their inspiring muse
                          And folks lost on the way seek their life`s clues;

                                   In stars above no magic lies for me,
                                  A withering tree battered by lightning,
                               Shattered by the hands of fate like a flea
                              Pining with harsh pains and close to falling,
                                  As the light in stars above fades away
                                With shine of the greater light of the day.

                                  Unlike stars, the glow of the inner light,
                             Damped in the oil of faith, ever shines bright
                           Guides men on the path that`s noble and right
                            Steers them away from the darkness of night
                              Invests in them strength to face daily strife
                                And, despite harsh odds, to remain alive.
