Me at 83

                                                                     Me at 83
                                                             By Val John Jennings

                                                             I used to pen words
                                                       and felt inspired to rhymes.
                                                      I loved to share my thoughts.
                                                              I did it often times.

                                                               Now that I am here,
                                                               in a facility of grace,
                                                           without an earthly care,
                                                          you can see it in my face.

                                                               So if the gods inspire,
                                                           I will share it with my pen.
                                                              I have a strong desire
                                                            To somehow write again.

                                                                Dear reader, I invite
                                                                You to share my joy;
                                                                  If I can now inspire
                                                               and  never just annoy!

                                                             So if I leave a note or card
                                                                    written to inspire;
                                                                it comes from my heart,
                                                                for new friends I acquire.
