Premium MemberMY TRUTHS - not for contest

Truth be told I don’t have many
Truths…that is
My beliefs have changed
Over the years
Not always for the better
According to some
Who hold their “truths” paramount.
I tell those people
“I am what you made me”

It’s been said that
I have no filters
Will say whatever runs
Screaming through my mind
My parry and thrust
Usually involves subtle
Quixotically imbued ideas
As I bear scars from battling windmills.

I have learned to
Question the question
Question the questioner
Question why they asked
That question
In that way
At that time

I also learned from my dogs
“sniff it, if it stinks
Don’t bother to chew on it”
I haven’t mastered the licking thing
But I do clean up after myself.

Premium MemberLove Story Understood By Two

He was quixotically chivalrous
A true old-fashioned romantic
She was a determined free-thinker
Against anything traditional

She was as captivating to him
as a majestic gloxinia is to a butterfly
He followed her for weeks
trying to get to know her, and woo her with his manners

She explained her positon clearly
Looking into his sky blue lashed orbs
But suddenly her heart took the reigns
Her soul-self agreed to coffee

They went to lunch on a Wednesday
And went dancing on Saturday
Her friends were amazed she wore a dress
That showed off her tall tanned legs

No one thought they had anything in common
But they found that they had everything in common
They showed each other new ways of thinking and feeling
It was a match made by angels who were applauding

Thirty years later and six children strong
The neighbors still wonder how two such different people
Can be so happy together. A love story understood by two.
Which does not have to be explained or understood by anyone else.

No Worries For Tomorrow

To the flowers that never get hold of turgidity
Even with the morning dew
Its faded petals once enjoyed a bright youth
It lived, while it had to and forgot of the later rains
Hurry! To the single moms, formerly “slay queens”
They spent their all to the seductive Swag hood, Fools
Get old to get wiser, sorry for the principle,
You are not to blame

To the future we will never participate
I cry for your fate, we never thought you were real
We robbed your generation, and created a chasm between
We were living our destiny so we stand corrected
Quixotically we planned your present,
So long as it filled the pocket of the absurd torch bearers
Its sustainability didn’t matter, not to them
We are sorry that you will still be submissive to neocolonialism
Get old to get wiser, I guess there are exceptions

Grasping Light

What do you want
What is it that you need
Forget your life envision
Let it go and feel what you bring

Whether it's wrong to them
Whether it's right for you
You're the solution to your own catastrophe
You're the problem between the black and blues

Love will find a way
Have patience, be grateful
Not dead, not hateful
Quixotically underrated, and truly alive

Occasionally in disguise
For the devil tends to come uninvited, a mere surprise
Fool yourself several times til you return again,
Be true to your future heaven, respect the angels and dont forget they ride til the end
Because when it's all over, there will be no time for debating
Negative space for contemplating

Mistakes titled space and time crumpled into a trash bin
Creating a massive black hole
Welcoming you with a familiar smile telling you to come on in
Turn your back and lift within the light
for the truth you may see isn't always true
the future is potentially bright
Like the angel Marley says
Every little thing is going to be all right
Fly away with the blue birds
Over the rainbow out of sight
They told you you amounted to nothing
And now you're controlling the light

Another anthology appears
Boldly boasting ballads.
Can't construct cinquain,
Ditto deconstructing didactic.

Easy efforts elevate essentially.
Fabulous frippery, fun, fauxmance.
Giving gifts ,gaiety, glory.
Hiding hyperbole ,hailing honesty.

I ignore idiosincricy.
Jubilant jeweled jots.
Krielle knowledge,
Luminates lovers learning.

Masters manage monoku.
No one notices nonsense.
Only ones own oratory,
Presents problems personally.

Quatern quixotically quizzes,
Rhymers,readers, royalaires.
State simple statements softly.
They translate terse tense truthfully.

Unless unabridged,
Villanelles vex vagueries.
Written without wordiness,
Yes,you yearn, yearn yonder, zee's zero
