"*As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God." - Psalm 42:1
                    (The Holy Bible)

Lord, quell the desires of my heart,
Lead me daily in Thy ways true,
I'm at Thy feet, teachings impart,
Help me Thy Scriptures to construe!

I pray to Thee for grace divine,
Lord, quell the desires of my heart,
Setting aside flesh, thoughts align,
From chains of sin, let me depart!

In Thee, let me have a new start,
Take my pen and let Thy words flow,
Lord, quell the desires of my heart,
Bathe me in Thy forgiveness glow!

Cleanse all evil from my thinking,
Let me pant for Thee, like the hart*,
Set me on the Rock, I'm sinking,
Lord, quell the desires of my heart.

An Anxious Waiting Devil In Hell

The chiming bell
Is about to tell
Those who tragically fell
And couldn’t their inner riot quell;
Right now withdrawn into their shell,
That all shall with them be well
And their hearts again with pride swell
After power-packed prayers in their home cell
And, thus, none to their soul naively sell,
Too an anxious waiting devil in hell

Premium MemberPlease Mr Shakespeare

What would William Shakespeare have to say of Trump's actions in this tragedy
play? Would he liken Trump to King Lear, consumed by vanity, loyalty and fear? Is Trump yet another Sir John Falstaff, a great buffoon, good for a laugh? "Double, Double toil and trouble", will the unseating of Trump leave this nation in a rubble? Please Mr. Shakespeare help us quell these uncertain times, oh pray do tell?

You Cannot Quell Our Spirit

From rooftops, you may yell or shrill
Finding faults and accusing us, still
Our spirit you can never kill

You may shout at us or scream
Defeat and despair our lot may seem
But you cannot destroy our dreams.

You may scheme against us or plot
Bring forth sorrow and curse our lot
But all your efforts will come to naught.

You may attack us with your lies
Make us dissolve into tears and sighs
But you can’t stop us reaching the skies.

You may inflict pain upon our hearts
Aim at us your poison darts
We’re destined to win, from the start.

Seeds of division you may sow
Turn a friend into a foe
But you cannot conquer us, you know.

You may try to dim our glow
Deal us a really mighty blow
But you cannot make us stoop so low.

You may seek an opportunity
To break our bonds of unity
But our strength will grow to infinity.

Vicious tales you may tell
Make our lives a living hell
But know this: our spirits you cannot quell.

Quell

One taste, and I'm in purgatory
Neither here nor there, not in Heaven nor Hell,
A cliched, overused allegory,
A taste of poison to make me be well

One taste, and all my thoughts are dead
Resting, peaceful, buried deeply,
Forbidden words are safe unsaid
Foriegn incites cannot breach me

One taste, and the world's soft-edged and sweet,
The sky falls close to bury me gently
Pavement-grey waves ssway beneath my feet
As the world tips and trembles so elegantly

One taste, and I cannot help but smile
To speak, and act, and live so freely
Unafraid, for just a little while,
To see myself as others might see me

One taste, and all the world is clear,
Flickers, flounders, fractures fade,
I'm not alone, for once, I'm here,
Playing the game as it's meant to be played

One taste, and I'm unable to stop
Only every quenched for a second, no more,
Before the tick and tock of the chemical clock
Draws me back to the one whose allegiance I swore

One taste, and I know I can never be free,
I'll suffer Hell to suppress my unstable thrill
I'll let my soul rot and ignore my heart's plea
Gladly crumble away for my little pink pill.

Fears I Can'T Quell

I lied when I said it was easy,
There are so many things that I fear;
Just thinking of them makes me queasy,
I’m waiting for them to appear;

Could it be we’re temporary,
Is our love enough to last;
Will he think I’m ordinary,
When so much time has passed;

The day that he betrays me,
The day he says goodbye;
All of the things that could be,
Make me want to cry;

How do I quell my many fears,
I don’t know what to do;
Cause I only have so many tears,
That I can spend on you.
