Moonbeams spun on cobwebs
laced through with dew.
Daybreak bugles
then burgles
as light enters its brazen domain.
Old Horace
wakes from his untidy cot;
an uncertain pause, then:
carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero,
for cobwebs, like tomorrow, are frail
and this day is a blade
to seize as you may.

You watch it haste and watch it fly,
Why try espy it flashing by?
Now you see it, now you don't,
Then you heard it ~ now you won't.
First, it's here and then it's gone,
Much the same for everyone.
Like a cloud high in the air
Glance once more and it's not there.
Like a bubble drifting past,
Though you know it cannot last.
A tranquil breeze, the bubble stops ~
Attempt to touch! the bubble pops.
Where it stems from no one knows;
No one sees to where it goes.
You know it's there but you can't find...
As not a trace it leaves behind.
But man can't beat this mighty force,
To try and try he'll fail, of course;
He'll never grasp the wheres and whys
Quam tempus fugit ~ how time flies!

Assuring a zig-zagging zebra a zinc zim-bam-boo
without cash, is so brash! As then you will have to give two.
Insuring a zoo master a zebra might rim-ram-roo
Practically tantamount to mashing a crashing bamboo.
As if you need any more trouble, my quim-quam-quaroo.
On your dash I shall lash a mashed mangled measly mad macaroo.
A sillier more gnashy poem I could try to get you.
But first let me throw in some trash, and a rash for us two.

Matris Dei caeli et terrae
Quam dulce, quam sancte, quam pulchra es
In quo mihi quotidie cupit
Veni ad me saties gratiarum
Illud etiam nunc in omnibus!
Solium tuum perstat in caelo
Nemo potest vincere.
Tempore evertens tua potentia est
Quisque subsunt sua.
Radix est ante saecula,
*****non capere potest.
Tua auctoritas ambit omnia,
Nemo potest ponere terminum.
Your essentia et esse est infinita,
Non est qui semper superstes potest!
O mater dolor
Exaudiat te genuit
Terra autem occiderunt vos
Per tuum, et vivam dolor in terra
Donec requiescat in sinu tuo?

I was buried fifteen years ago.
During that ferocious Harmattan-
And the call of Beelzebub's ban.
How I baked beneath the Earth!
And went for days, famished and unfed.
Now I start to understand
That there are more souls at the devil's bail
Than at Heaven's command-
When I stared at Lucifer in the eyes
I saw the dark joy in his smiles:
Then he took my putrefying hands,
Kissed them and whispered through his fangs:
'''Homines perfectionis perdidisse
In caelo non sunt reversi.
Isque, si eorum peccatis,
Non erit hic spatium
quia in novissimis temporibus.
Quam luctus in caelum!'''
And as the worms dropped from my chest
And the flesh burnt like pest
I felt within me that emptiness and cold
As a power seized my quakery soul.
