Freeze! Freeze! Cops here, put your hands in the air!
Get on your knees! Put your hands behind your head!
We had a report of a crime and came and found you here.
You’re under arrest; if you move; we will shoot you dead.
Officer, what is the charge for which I am under arrest?
Was I identified as the suspect in your alleged report?
I’m on my knees; hands behind my head; I will not protest.
Why an intruder and a criminal, did the caller purport?
I am an employee and the owner of this business officer.
It is my legal right and prerogative to be situated here.
How can you infringe on my rights; but, take benefits I offer?
You disrespect my liberty and dignity the anthem holds dear;
You profiled, labelled, tried and convicted; without knowing me;
I am guilty, until my innocence is proven to be wholly true.
In a country whose constitution don’t benefit me, who’s free;
Then what relevance is the ‘virtue of the flag,’ if not ‘equal value’.

Colour Schemers
Arab Traders excavated
Europe laid the foundation
The New World framed it perfectly
The rest of the races roofed it
This …
Inordinate economic concupiscence
Shadowy sham, animated by a violent passion
An extraordinary alteration
So…
Nature convulses
Human dignity reduced to
Colour: Black, white, brown, yellow
But …
The scale corrects itself
The clock resets
The scheme falls apart
Because …
There is only one humanity
It’s you.
It’s me.

All Russians love chili.
How do you know?
I met one once.
All Mexicans love bluebirds.
How do you know?
I heard from my cousin.
All Whites love Trump.
I am white.
I know.
My teeth cringe.

Child torn "innocently" sits in the
corner of the room.
Mother angrily accuses the father of him
burning down her house out of despite.
Father screams back you sure you don't need
the insurance money.
All along the child is smiling and holding in his
laughter.
Never recognizing the child in the room at all.
Hate towards each other left him invisible.
"I did it " ,screamed the child, "Now will you pay
attention to me?"

PROFILING 101
Mama and Daddy are separated
They're talking about getting a divorce
I wish they had stayed together
But things just kept getting worse
Daddy moved to another town
Mama stayed at home
There's no real joy in my life
I feel so all alone
I get to see Daddy once a month
For only a day or two
We really get along okay
But there isn't much to do
I go back home to Mama
But she's not aware I'm there
She seems to cry an awful lot
It's more than I can bear
Now here we are in lock-up
Because of all the pain
I only wanted the three of us
To be together again
The fire destroyed everything
Except me, and Mom or Dad
Now the police are trying to determine
Which of us could be so bad
I say, I don't remember
How the fire began
That's my only defense...so
Where do Mama and Daddy stand?

Profiling Can Be the Best Way To Go
By Elton Camp
If a feeble, little old lady comes walking by
Is your reaction the same if a thug you spy?
If not, then it’s profiling in which you engaged
A practice that makes some become so enraged
But there are times it can make a whole lot of sense
Especially if against terrorists you’re making a defense
Airport security is an excellent example of such a time
The emphasis should on those likely to commit crime
Experience with terrorists causes us to know the type
To screen those more is no valid reason for any to gripe
To search a young kid from head to toe
Most certainly is not the correct way to go
A turbaned man muttering, “Allah be blessed”
Carefully check and if necessary then arrest
If he calls it “discrimination,” what do we care
Good sense can be far more important than fair

Racial Profiling
By Elton Camp
A black man walks in a suburban neighborhood
That the police will be called will be understood
A young black woman is dressed extremely cute
So some will then assume that she’s a prostitute
When a Muslim man attempts an airplane to board
Angry glares and muttered words show he’s abhorred
A Mexican man in the USA often comes to feel grief
Because onlookers take him to be lazy or even a thief
By police, the racial profiling is ever so much bolder
Minorities are disproportionately pulled to the shoulder
Yet, I cannot declare my own self to be prejudice-free
A black man appears and I lock my car quick as can be

Small Town Profiling
friends and me tonight,
stopped for walking with dark skin,
they know what's coming;
tell me not to show outrage,
eclipse of the sun will pass.
