Tidy boxes, appealing to the eye in a calendar,
office space, sterile wall, driven in circles mad by desire
for stimulation, a place beyond walls
does such a place exist? and if so what fear lies there...
unwinding years of pre-k programming
system lined with debonair intrigues
if you do this you can have that and then some...so what?
leisure becomes the devils playpen
you are a baby outside these walls
so it seems, they lead and you follow
kick back? relax? hustle culture tells you NO.
stern blocky letters to the face
anonymously tracing lines down the sidewalk...
well what when the sidewalk ends?
maybe you will realize what is really pretend.
Older and more mature
Learning from mistakes
Age 3 was a year
Of utter experience
Dancing and singing
Like nobody was watching
Never silenced
By the dark night
Even if the words
Were unknown
More words went in their place
Never ending the tunes
Energy was crazy
Moving at high speeds
Never stopping to sit and stay
Swinging from everything in her path
But nonetheless
She began to understand
What this thing called life was
And she loved it
TV was now available
Commercials revealed
Worlds that she never knew existed
Were being handed to her
On a silver screen
She still wanted to learn
Despite all of the privileges
She had a hunger to learn
That couldn’t seem to be filled
Pre K began
She was dazed and confused
This wasn’t what she expected
But she went along with it
Not many memories
But enough to last her many years
Some good
Some bad
But all were hers
And she knew it
I love you more than anything.
You are my friend.
You are my role model.
Even though you are annoying at times,
You are my little sister, and I love you.
You may think I am annoying too,
But always remember I am there for you.
The day you were born,
I don’t quite remember,
but all I know is you are the greatest gift ever.
Little did I know are time would be
Short, but that’s not important.
Your first day of Pre-K was very exciting.
You were so happy to be leaving for school.
Later that month would not be very cool.
That day sucked because I was at school,
Hoping everything would be okay,
But little did I know it wouldn't be so gay.
I walk in your room, not knowing what to say.
I see you in bed, I don’t know what to do.
Mom said you would be okay.
Then you woke up.
I was so relieved but I thought I lost you that day.
Mom and Dad were so very sad.
I remember that day like it was only yesterday.
I still really miss you, but I’m okay.
I know I have another angel in heaven.
But I still wished that day would never have happened.
"Time"
by: Eric L. Boddie
Tomorrow, it never comes
For it is always today
But the future will be realized
For it lives in each and every Pre-K
Only the now is forever
Yet no one knows how long the now will last
Because my most recent thought
Is the newest entry in the Book of Eric's Past
Because the life expectancy of the present
Is so much less than the duration of a single breath
Because by the time I am ready to exhale
Who knows how many instances have left
For a true concept of time
Is, perhaps, the vaguest mystery
Because within the blink of an eye
The future becomes history
And that is not meant to confuse
Or to cloud anyone's perception
But we all need to understand
That death begins at the moment of conception
And unless there is a rebirth
Life has no meaning within itself
Because only in the soul
Can a man truly acquire wealth
And wealth is derived from the Word
And the Word came from above
And time will never die
But it can be conquered by Love
And Love is the Word
You have to take It for what It's worth
And if you don't know It's value
Look in the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth
For it is never easy as a parent
to let go of your child's hand
the first day of Pre-K
For it is never easy for a
mother to accept her daughter
moving to another state
For it is never easy for a father
to see his daughter
transitioning into a young lady
For it is never easy for a
mother to see her daughter go
through labor
For it is never easy for a father
to see his daughter being loved
by another man
For it is never easy for a
mother to see her son being
loved by another woman
For it is never easy for a parent
too see their child associating
with the wrong crowd
For it is never easy for a parent
too see their child ruining their
life by using drugs
BUT
As parent(s) and/or guardians
if we pray and believe all will
work out if we just trust in our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
because HE is the one that has
given these children to us
eventually all will BUT YOU
MUST BELIEVE no mater what
the situation.

Super humans don't exist, at least that's what I thought until I met an
Intelligent person in my classmate when we were just three.
Xerophyte describes our attitudes towards life. She so hot, she makes
Tabasco look like ice. But don't be fooled by her
Appearances, tick her off and you'll see my sis' fist in your face.
So trust me when I say you'll be famous
One day. No matter what they say
On the sky you'll shine brighter than any other star because my
Narcissuses are never wrong about life.
Must we have such talent that
Excludes us from our families?
Tao we try but never
Endure. We must choose our own path and
Obscure our past.
Rippled waves of thoughts run through my brain.
P.S. Sixta is my sis. We've known each other since pre-k and our birthdays aren't even a
month apart!
