Been incarcerated in a house;
Displeased in surrounding clout;
Walls sadden painted windows covered in 50's paint;
Ridiculed and stagnated
Accustomed to be alienated
I walk outside still alive vertical choice
I received my voice
Contemplating
Residue survival

Sometimes if we are careful,
Putting thought into how,
And where we position our armchairs,
We can see more than if we
Were actually present when the event took place.
The trouble is most of us fear ridicule,
And never tell anyone what we have seen,
While sitting in our armchair,
And most now position their chair,
In front of the TV or computer.
And those who may once have told someone,
Now prefer lying on a couch,
Which makes it hard for them,
To see anything more than a bowl of potato chips.

"CURRENTLY POSITIONED"
she's a stretched out
green car driving
bag of emotional
emotions that linger
after each use.
she's full of
acting skill
convenient memory
waterless tears
and denial.
she stands out
overlooking her
17th street playground.
watching
and waiting.
I wait for her
as she waits for
those that lied
for those that laughed
for those that left
while she
lies
laughs
leaves.
at 22 she likes
those soulless
and amateur boys
that add no value to
their lives or hers
their lack of skill
finds her lack of
thought and it damns
purpose into hell's
waiting room.
she's claimed these
foolish dick-led boys
capture what she's never had
she's un-old
she's un-smart
she's wasted opportunity
for the duration of a
phone call and
night drive to dirty sex.
often times
she thinks of one
remembers one
speaks of one
and I laugh at every
attempt to convince me
I've gained what
they've lost.
she drives her green car
it carries a mixed bag
of betrayal
she's empty without
her audience.
I hope her next performance
brings a standing ovation
because I've asked for a
refund.

Positioned to Win
(Rhyming Couplets)
In two-thousand-ten I’m positioned to win
There’s no longer a frown but only a grin
For I’m going into the enemy’s camp
I’m winning this war because I am the champ
I’m positioned firm by the help of the Lord
I’m using the word of God which is my sword
With my hands raised high I’m moving right in
Satan’s under my feet I’m stomping out sin
You see in two-thousand-nine he stole me blind
So in two-thousand-ten I won’t be so kind
I’m positioned to win I know this is true
For two-thousand-ten is my year to break-through
