"a dance for life"
while dangerously near
the time is now
we dance for life
we move to love
such a maneuver saves our souls
slowly performing to perfection
nothing matters but oneness
to music rhythm to each other
our slow moves circle each other
cautiously positing
each step
each lift of an arm
we turn our faces to one another
a set mouth opens into a tentative smile
what began as a dance of life
became the passionate transition to love
playing out full emotions to movement
acting out an inspiring love story
eyes locked in full understanding
a path can lead to anywhere, far, near
it will always lead back
ask yourself where
but don't give the answer

Gravity keeps our feet on the ground,
Stops us from slapdash flying around.
This force of attraction ‘fictitious’ gives weight
And makes all fall down at equivalent rate.
(Albeit in flights of fancy it seems
That gravity follows the laws of dreams.)
Relativity caused Newton’s view to shatter,
In positing spacetime to be curved by matter.
So objects will take a particular path
That must correspond with Einsteinian math.
(The upshot is bodies have odysseys
Appropriate to their geodesies.)
Gravitons, a gravitational source
Of controversy, are seen as a horse
Of a quite different color altogether.
But then scientists aren’t birds of a feather.
(Some sit upon their a priori-based fences
And come up with theories defying the senses.)
Weak or strong, short or long, what is this thing
Called gravity? Wide hypotheses swing.
There are those who suppose that it’s this, others that.
Maybe someday, they all just might have it down pat.
(Meanwhile gravity, though we resize and shape it,
Will still have its own way— for who can escape it?)

could it possibly have been the tumor in your stomach
which then spread to your brain,
finally killing you
on august 19th, 1662,
which led to your shameless “wager”
which believers have used in an endless attempt to
inflict
guilt
upon
all of us who simply cannot digest the babblings of your
book,
your traditions & your
“god,”
and not some kind of religious awakening?
hadn’t you been in poor health most of your life,
and hadn’t you any hesitation before positing that it’d be better to
believe than to not,
as if life was just some cheap roll of the dice in a casino,
a lottery scratch off,
whereby if you take a chance & play,
you may win the prize & if you don’t bother,
you will have no chance whatsoever?
could the cancer invading your mind have led you to
believing that what insanity was right for you,
might have been right for others?
couldn’t you have just been content being really good at
geometry & not feel the need to
pounce upon us
posthumously with your
Pensées?
