A Friend's Pledge
Take a seat and rest you weary soul on my stage
matters not your great troubles or age
cast off those shadows that chase you down
I'll sell them off to a wandering clown!
Award me the gifts of your anger and grief
size means nothing I can still give relief
with words of faith and very good cheer
laced with conviction, nothing to fear!
Load me up with scandals falsely laid upon you
I can very easily handle a dozen or two
so wrap 'em up tied so nicely in a ribbon
they will be well recieved that's a given!
And why not agree to do what I now so plead
I have the blessings ready you so greatly need
look at it as a start , a means to a good end
for are we not equally generous and very good friends!

Friendship is a treasure often far more valuable that rubies
and gold!
A blessed man is he that can say he truly has even just one
great and true friend!
Some are greatly blessed with more.
I've got your back will always be
A term of my loyalty
Call me any day or night
If something just isn't right
A cash loan I'll give to you
Anytime to help you through
Sickness won't keep me away
By your side I'll sit and stay
If tears are falling from your eyes
My shoulder will keep them dry
Anyone causing you pain
Will make me badly insane
When your low and feeling down
My love will be all around
If doubts fill your mind with fear
I will make them disappear
There will never be a time
You will ever seem to find
A friend more faithful than me
It is in the first degree
That I pledge my loyalty
Hoping you can really see
I'm not going to abandon
A friendship that's never landing
I may not always be at your side
but I will always be on your side;
I may not be there to protect you
but I will always defend you;
I may not always walk with you
but I will never run away from you;
I may not always understand you
but I will never close my ears to you;
I may not have the speed to sprint with you
but I will endure in your life's marathons -
you will always be my friend.
