"philosophizing"
agog
a god
a dog
taking
a piss
as if

Our yesterday; reality
Our today; possibility
Our tomorrow; dream
Plant tomorrow's dream
Into yesterday's fertile soil
And harvest today!

PHILOSOPHIZING LIFE ...
We are not close to the edge,
when we still dream
Future ...
Our pain is not
unbearable when we control
its intensity ...
We are not dying
when fresh day is born
and we are still in the fight ...
We're still watching ...!

Straitened are the times
And tight is my pocket.
A glass of brandy
Consumed with contemplation
Is hard to bargain
As speculators have poured in
Shouting ‘buy’, ‘buy’, ‘buy’.
Since out is the signal
The hoarders have barged in
And have emptied the market
Of all the brandy, inclusive of
The liquors that brandished
Even a semblance of flavor
That reminded them of this brand.
After the run-on brandy
Its prices have rocketed sky-high.
Engulfed by indignation
But still the avid lover
That I am of this brand,
I emptied my purse
To offer me a bottle of brandy.
Sipping the liquor in a glass
And immersed in happiness
I sat reinstated to my senses
And to the art of philosophizing,
And wondered whether the glass
That I held in my hand
Was half-full or half-empty.
Misfit to this treacherous art
But tied to pitfalls in my daily life,
I sat there and gazed contently
Through my half-filled glass
With intent and pride, enthralled
That I did not have to complain
About things I can’t change.

People tend to analyze what they do;
Hoping to discover just who they are.
It's one way to see our species anew,
Little groups that we study from afar.
Often, we fault those of low intellect,
So easily led by egos and pride.
Old bigotries are immune to neglect;
Paradoxically, they haven't yet died.
High ideals are subjected to fraud,
Insomuch as our motives seem spiky.
Zealots and prophets oft interject God
into Mankind's vulnerable psyche.
Nothing is as critical as id is,
Giving Man a sense of all that is His.

Retiring, they ask me
What do you do now
For a living that is
I'm a Philosopher, I say
Social Security encouraged me
They say, is there money in it
I charge Forty Dollars an hour
I say, used to that is
Now I sell it by the pound
How can I get some, they say
Have a seat, I say
Best forty dollars you'll ever spend

A dumb officemate landed a promotion but not me,
it's alright, it was not based on good looks anyway.
I am grossly underpaid but come to think of it it's okay,
I cannot be relying on this damn oil company's charity.
I wrote many songs that no one buys even for a dime,
perhaps, like Van Gogh, I was born ahead of my time.
Got into karate and my opponent broke my collarbone,
well, even the great Ali's jaw was busted by Ken Norton.
It did not hurt a bit at all, not amounting to a scratch,
although it was like a kick landing right on the crotch.
A woman turned me down but it was clearly her loss,
crazy not falling for a guy who looked like Tom Cruise.
I admit my poems stink, sorely lacking any meaning,
but Joe's are even worse, not amounting to anything!
