Ecolayer

They proposed stabilization
Friction from the augers
Rotation
Caused one to ponder
Would such affect
Those ah yonder
Then in perfect diction
He said it as a predict
If thee surface of this
Slate should pop
It will create a lot of
Rocks
And if these rocks should
Roll
No one. Would be in control
He rethought the matter
A solution was what he was after
Reaching down in his soul
He made sight of stories told
He'd use boulders as a buffer
We're the stones to roll
Nothing would suffer
Everyone loved his plan
They stopped by to give him
A hand

They proposed using an auger to drill holes to
Plant trees crack the mountain side below the
Surface. They also bored holes and filled them
With cement to instantly began the process.

Ed Owens

This is my promise to you for the world to see.
Just how much you really mean to me.
I promise to love you,
As long as you love me too.

I tell this to the stars above,
To remind you that you will always be loved.
I tell this to the fish in the sea,
And they to will know just how much you mean to me.

I promise you Forever,
We'll spend our lives time together.
I promise to make you better when you feel down,
Even if that means I have to act like a clown.

If this promise to you isn't enough,
Well then maybe I should think twice about us.
But even if I do,
I will always be deeply in love with you.

The Other Mary: Mary Owens Part I

Abraham Lincoln took notice
when she, Mary Owens,
a blue eyed, dark haired beauty
was in New Salem in 1833; visiting.
Of course he took notice!
She was born on September 29, 1808
in Green County on the Green River,
in Greensburg,
in South Central Kentucky.
Her father, Nathaniel, a prominent
Green County pioneer and business man
became the first High Sheriff of the county
and a Quarter Sessions Court Judge.
Mr. Lincoln asked her to marry him in 1836.
After his letter dated May 7, 1837,
she turned him down.

Mary Owens tells us:
I agree with Mary Todd Lincoln,
we do not kiss and tell,
but Abraham Lincoln
wrote me a letter,
and well,
after I read it,
I decided, with a good heart,
to decline. Just something
that was not designed
to be, so I declined.

It was at that time
I met Jesse Vinney,
we married and moved to Missouri.
But I will say of Mr. Lincoln,
"He was a man with a heart full
of kindness
and a head full of sense."
