I close the door and I shut my eyes
Trans-dimensional synthesize
Explore some more and synchronize
Under the oculus I scrutinize
Polyhedral fractals in disguise
As tessellated crystals in blue skies
In spatiotemporal waters I'm baptized
My hopes and dreams are galvanized
I scribble and scratch and memorize
While I can barely visualize
I pause and ruminate then overemphasize
Yet I can barely verbalize
What have I seen? What does it mean?
Alpestrine thoughts of the unforeseen
What can I glean from the crazy scene
That left me bereft of manner and mien?
Christmas celebration is not fully banned
Cheers! Governments explained to the locals:
For whatever reasons, that would be impossible
For Anyone gonna have a Street or public show
Finally, they haven't forgotten to overemphasize
To the young people, never forget, they said:
Christ is a Western deity, not a Chinese and
Christmas is a western festival, NOT our Traditional
This year, sleeping spring refuses to rise
too long overdue but not a surprise
as the weak sun hidden in thick cloud lies
masked by stubborn mists in leaden grey skies
with temperatures way below normal highs
Lack of sunshine and warmth can jeopardize
crop growing and a good harvest denies
Persistent rain leads to insect demise
essential bees drowned and no butterflies
to help fruit and flowers to fertilize
It’s difficult to overemphasize
the full impact a delayed spring implies
or the effects on mood trivialize
Lack of sun makes depression demoralize
many folks and others traumatize
Often, the thing to do is recognize
defeat and climb aboard a plane that flies
off to a land that sees the sun arise
and soak up UV rays (perhaps unwise
transformed to a mummy when parched skin dries)
