It's not personal, it's business,
says the guy overcharging you.
Knowing you'll begrudgingly pay:
they keep squeezing until you're broke.
You cringe inside each time you hear:
it's not personal, it's business.
And yet, partial payments increase
the amount owed on their ledger.
With no job, you live off food banks
and grift on the street for your rent.
It's not personal, it's business;
doesn't help when your hydro gets cut.
Society's a heartless beast;
that chews up souls and spits them out.
And as life beats you down, you hear
it's not personal, it's business.

Many lives have quick moves
of savage rhythms as the samba
or rock’n roll.
On others fits better the tempo of the blues
or the tango cruel fascination.
At least, bolero’s tenderness.
At such speed,
for the good or the worse,
as no selective sponges
they can register all subtleties
too much faint, hermetic or brisk
to the senses of hurried people.
One may suffer, learning or wondering
despite the risk
of overcharging heart and mind
becoming crazy.
I’m working hard to
nothing can turn the knob
that speeds up or slows the beat
and rhythms on me better fit.
That's my unique karmic job.

In this day and age when we are so
absorbed by all our gadgets beginning with i,
I am glad to report kindness is alive and well.
Walking home after a foreign holiday late last night
in the snow, with cabin case trailing, a doctor
going off duty turned her car to take me to my abode.
Because it was -5 here when it was 20 there,
my younger sister text to ask would I like a fire lit,
the morning of my departure from sunny shores.
Childless and alone at home on Xmas day with
all at work knowing what a hopeless cook I am,
a colleague wanted to bring me a cooked dinner.
Seeing a picture of my broken down plastic Xmas tree,
my cousin far away, a retired lecturer in forestry,
arranged to have a real tree delivered to my door.
My older sister in Australia, on hearing my rant about
the builder who robbed me in broad daylight by overcharging,
sent me a cheque for 100 euro to soften the blow.
Random acts of kindness mean so much and I am glad
Kai got in touch, to give me this opportunity to reveal
my humble gratitude to all those who cared enough.

Got some Hamiltons, chasin' Benjamins
I'm just a youngin', chasin' that cream
Just a youngin', chasin' that cream
If you're 'bout money, join the team
I'm just a youngin', chasin' that cream
Just a youngin', chasin' that cream
I'm a vendor, selling fools a dream
Overcharging 'em, call it extreme
Vain indulgence, simply lavish
Free money crash-course, get rich
I'm big eatin', you haters is starving
It's crystal clear, your ribs' touching
I bet big, raise the stake
Join me, win, catch a break
Not a scrooge, so I break bread
Everybody in my team are well-fed
Remember one thing, cream
Money keep flowing in, like a stream
Heading to the top, we was submerged
Started to invest, instead of splurge
From piss broke, living in the projects
To corporate, completing projects
